- WE DO NOT PARTICIPATE WITH ANY HMO INSURANCE POLICIES, ADULT MEDICAID, ANTHEM HEALTHKEEPERS, AND BCBS CAREFIRST POLICIES WHICH DO NOT HAVE OUT-OF-AREA PRIMARY CARE COVERAGE (see required program icon for coverage). Please note, our fee schedules/reimbursements are based on primary care rates for Surf Pediatrics and Medicine; therefore, charges will be LOWER than other urgent care centers.
- For Surf patients, we are excited to provide additional availability outside of our standard primary care hours 8 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday timeframe. We do want to let you know in advance, that an after hours charge could be applied to your visit to help insurance companies track appointments that occur in the evenings or on weekends and holidays. Most private insurance companies, and ALL public insurance plans, cover this charge — though, in some cases, it may be applied to your deductible.
In order to file correctly to you insurance company, you MUST bring the newest copy of your insurance card. If we are not contracted with your insurance, we will not file with that insurance. You will have to be self-pay for any visits and we will send you a claim for you to file for reimbursement with your insurance.
It is the patient's responsibility to verify and get a thorough understanding of their medical benefits. We bill insurance as a primary care, we DO NOT bill as an urgent care. The patient is responsible for all charges not reimbursed by their insurance carrier including but not limited to coinsurance, deductibles, and any charges associated with collection activity.
The COVID-19 public health emergency has ended. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY AT 100% FOR COVID TESTING AND APPOINTMENTS.
There is a 3% fee on credit card transaction payments.
If you have a question related to your individual insurance plan, please feel free to contact our Billing Department at (252) 255-5321.
